Wedding & reception flowers & photographs

Whew, the weekend is over... all of the vases and props washed, cleaned and put away until August! That was quite a ride.... but at least the guests for both of our weddings & receptions had some of the most incredible weather Atlanta has seen in years... I swear, we're getting June weather in July ...considering we had record breaking heat the entire month of June... not complaining.. it was wonderful!

Nicole Bajalia & Jim Hunt started their photos at the beautiful Four Seasons hotel in Midtown Atlanta. As is our custom, once the bridal bouquet arrives for pictures, we have the bride close her eyes (gently..that make up job is flawless!) and with the help of her mother, MOH or other close person, we unwrap the bouquet and count down from 3 so the photographer can capture that initial reaction. Knock wood... in almost 12 years of doing this, we've yet to see tears of sadness or disappointment. Nicole was over the moon with her bouquet.. and rightly so - it was beautiful. After photography, everyone was transported to the wedding & reception site, Park Tavern at Piedmont Park.. in the Garden Tent. No threat of inclement weather.. just a beautiful steady breeze..but we will share with you that for a while there, everyone thought they heard thunder in the distance...but it was a false alarm.. the microphone for the pianist was live and the wind created 'thunder' sounds... lucky us! Erica & Emily of 'A Big To Do Event, Inc' did a great job of keeping everyone on schedule and helping any vendor who asked. Big shout out to Lauren at Park Tavern and her staff for doing a wonderful job; our dear friends Shira & Stephen of Angel Cakes for the bridal cake and the groom's cake (Spiderman, Spiderman). Cindy of Cynthia Jill Photography captured the event and will be sharing with us! The band...The Neons... party over here, party over there!!!

Saturday was an all day affair - Lauren Tanis and Anthony Gensler had their big day..starting with St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church in Buckhead. Their programs featured the sketch I made for the family of the proposed church florals - no extra charge..happy to work with our clients. The reception was at The Atlanta History Center - guests entered through the main Museum entrance and were met with signature cocktails. The guest book was in the small rotunda just off the entrance and the cocktail hour was in the museum gallery. At the dinner bell, guests picked up their escort card in the large rotunda and moved into the Grand Overlook Room. The tables were dressed with brand new linens from BBJ Linens in their Federal Blue Shantung - the look of silk at a great price! The huge head table (23 guests) was decorated with Gunmetal Bengaline and white overlays, while the bars and buffet tables were dressed with Celadon Lamour. White lounge furniture helped provide seating on the dance floor and the fabulous Del Baroni Ensemble kept everyone jumping!! Palm trees in strategic locations screend the view of the new construction projects and lighting enhanced the ballroom. The incredible folks at Dennis Dean Catering really outdid themselves! Both the bridal cake and the groom's cake were from the incomparable Mark Lotti's Classic Cheesecakes & Cakes - (the groom's cake featured the couple's dog, Zeus...perched atop Mt. Olympus, in a pup tent with the groom and a LSU flag). Nancy Fields of Elegant Weddings & Affairs kept everyone in line and was a pleasure to work with. Photographer was Romina Rivadeneira of I Shot The Bride with a little help from our friend Kristen Alexander - she photographed the Overlook Room before the guests arrived and we will share all photos once we have them.
