Sana Silvera Oct 3, 2010

Sana is a beautiful young lady who came to us with a very special vision for her wedding.. it was always about the shoes!  As you can see, stunning.

She ran into a bit of bad luck and had to cut out all reception and ceremony decor because her house was broken into by burglers and it really set her back financially.. just 2 weeks before the wedding.  One of our services is a 'Pick Up Wedding' - typically the personal flowers.. everything designed and boxed for pickup.  Her coordinator picked up the flowers Sunday morning and Sana sent us these two pics of her bouquet.  Thought we would share.

The great news..the police think they have captured the burgler... hope so.  Best wishes Sana!

Jill McAdaragh & Stephen Timlin

We promised you images of a very unusual bridal bouquet... well, here it is, along with images from the reception at JW Marriott.  These photos were taken by me, either with my Nikon or the new iPhone 4.

Jill's bouquet had no flowers in it, rather, she opted for her favorite plant --succulents!  We used Aeonium, Echeverria and sedums for the bouquet.  Her bridesmaids were in true Teal dresses, so we added an accent of Teal colored pins for a splash of color - something she didn't expect.

Her reception was equally as innovative.. she wanted monobotanic (one plant/variety) and monocromatic.. so tables had a grouping of glass vases, each with one type of flower... surrounded by frosted votives.  The head table was very grand... use of silver on silver.   Cake table was covered in lace panels provided by mother of the groom and the piano (used as sign in) was also covered with lace panels.... always a nice touch.

Jill & Stephen August 21, 2010

This weekend finds us preparing the florals for Jill McAdaragh & Stephen Timlin.  Stephen's family is hosting the rehearsal dinner at The City Club of Buckhead on Friday evening.  Jill & Stephen will exchange vows Saturday at the beautiful Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, and host the reception at the JW Marriott at Lenox Square.

Jill has chosen to carry a bouquet that is not really floral... she really loves the archetectural nature of succulents.  Her bridal bouquet will be primarily various succulents... should be gorgeous..  I will post photos once it is designed.  Her attendents will carry green & white bouquets.

Congratulations to you both Jill & Stephen... we'll see you Saturday!!

Locks of Love

For those of you who know me and have seen my hair grow (??) the last 3 years, it wasn't something to recapture youth or for vanity... but simply:

Shalya & Jason May 29, 2010 at the Atlanta Botanical Garden

Many thanks to Christine Gallagher for these images...she's on vacation in Boston, so I took these from her blog. It was very warm that day and the skies were threatening to explode... we had thunder & lightening, but no rain!  These photos will have to suffice until Christine returns from the northeast!

Chateau Elan - Saturday June 5 2010

Last Saturday morning, our bride & groom were getting married at Chateau Elan, on the front lawn.  The night before, that area was hit by a HEWGE storm...over 4" of rain in less than 1 hour, many trees down, etc...what a mess.  We left Atlanta around 7:20am and headed north on I-85... luckily, there was no traffic (or cops) and before we knew it.. there was the sign for 'Braselton'... and FOG!  Once we got off of the interstate, the fog was gone and there was Chateau Elan, sparking fresh in the sunlight.  We had to wait on their staff to set the chairs for the ceremony.  Stephanie & Darron wanted it simple but colorful.. their 'theme' was "Summer of Love".  Her last name was Summers and there was a play on words. The color scheme was Tangerine, Fuchsia & yellow, accented with crisp white.  Sometimes less IS more...as you can see from my photos.  Kristen Alexander will supply us with photos next week and we promise to share.  Oh, did I tell you it was already stifling hot at 10am??  Definately summer has come to Georgia early!

Nice message from one of our recent Mother & Father of the Bride

We received this email from the parents of one of our recent brides, Mackenzie Crain..her ceremony was at St. Philips Cathedral and the reception at the Ritz Carlton Downtown.  The photos are coming in any day now.. .and I will share...  in the meantime, this is what they said:

"The flowers for MacKenzie and Aaron's wedding reception were spectacular!
No other florist compares
with your elegance.   We had so many comments on how beautiful the flowers
were and how lovely the
presentation.  Thank you for making our daughter's wedding a thing of
beauty.

Emily Giffin's Private Booksingning for 'Heart of the Matter' May 11, 2010

Tuesday night, at the brand new Loew's Hotel Atlanta, local author and New York Times Bestseller Emily Giffin hosted a private signing for her new novel, "Heart of the Matter".  We were privileged to be the florist for the event, using her signature color from the book cover, PURPLE...and anyone who knows Foxgloves & Ivy knows we love purple.  Highland Bakery provided a cake, Soiree Catering showcased their cocktail fare, Eventologie and Sequel Marketing were charged with planning.  Barnes and Noble provided the books - IN FACT, they sold out and had to make an emergency run to the store to get more!! "The Atlantan" was the media sponsor and BBJ Linen provided exquisite new linens from their line.   The VIP party was 6-7, and the invited guests arrived around 7pm for the party.... Emily sat at her table from 6pm until 11pm signing all books...she is such a wonderful lady and very gracious... she greeted and talked with every single guest in the line...posing for photos as well.  Poor thing, she had to be on a plane for New York City this morning to prep for her NYC Booksigning... what an inspiration!!

Special thanks to our publicist and friend, Meg Reggie, for getting us involoved.  Another of our friends, Atlanta shoe designer Ann Roth attended as our guest and will be designed new patterns based upon the artwork from the book cover.. inspiration comes from the most unlikely places.

Inny... you rock... loved being at the Loew's Hotel Atlanta... let's do it again soon!  The staff at the hotel is nothing short of top-notch... they treat the vendors as if we were guests... well done and we can't wait to be there again.

Emily...best of luck (as if you need it!)  unitl next time....

These photos were from us, Ann Roth and a few others... we're waiting on the pro shots a bit later.

Pick Up Weddings

Yes, we also design 'Pick Up Weddings'...  typically the florals will be the bridal bouquet, maybe an attendant or 2, some boutonnieres, mothers' flowers and possibly centerpieces... we design them, box them for transport and the client sends someone to pick them up!  How wonderful is that??
Here are 2 photos of one of our 2 Pick Up weddings for this weekend... this is a bridal bouquet from 2 angles...  flowers used are peonies & lilac from Wisconsin, 'Movie Star' roses, deep purple stock, French Coupe tulips and gerbera daisies from Alabama!  Wonderful bright spring colors and flowers!  Enjoy

Kind words from the mother of the Groom (Ashley & Michael)

We received this email today and thought we'd share; it is from Michael's mother

"To Larry and Greg and all of your staff,

I find it difficult to tell you how beautiful I thought everything was.  I waited to see the main dinning area at the Peachtree Club until I got there from the Rehearsal.  Wendy told me it was gorgeous, but I am not sure that even described my first impression.  The tall arrangements, the tablecloths,  the perfect volatives, and all of the table arrangements were exactly as I had envisioned them to be.  Greg, it was as if you were in my mind and saw the same thing I did.

The Reception was also magical. Looking into that dinning space was spectacular.  Your recommendation for the chairs, tablecloths everything was beautiful.  Marcia told me Sunday that you came by the Reception and I am sorry I did not get to see you.

I told Wendy at the Peachtree Club,  that if Foxgoves and Ivy were doing the flowers  tell her clients to not doubt that it will be perfect.
Thanks for tolerating me and making this one of the most memorable weekends.

Sincerely,
Tina Lyerly"

Ashley & Michael - F&I photos

What a great day... Ashley was so excited.. her ceremony was held Saturday, April 10, at Central Presbyterian Church downtown.  She is the 4th generation bride to marry there.. her grandfather conducted the ceremony.  Pre-ceremony photography had her crossing the street and posing under an archway at the Georgia State Capital Building... another Crosland tradition... 3rd or 4th generation with same pose & location!   Don't you just love it when there is a story within the story??  We do!

Ashley's bouquet was comprised of deep purple Lisianthus, Sweet peas, purple & green hellebores, Dutch Lilac, Dutch Peony tulips, 'Amnesia' rose, 'Ocean Spray' rose, Baby Green Hydrangea, Mokara orchids, immature Snowball Viburnum, miniature calla 'Sugar Plum' and deep purple freesia.... gorgeous!

The bridesmaids carried a coordinating bouquet of softer shades of purple and lavender (dresses were deep plum/fig).  Flowers such as 'Amnesia' rose, Mokara orchids, lavender Sweet Peas (Holland), lavender Dutch peony Tulips, white miniature callas, lavender freesia, 'Little Silver' spray rose, Baby Green Hydrangea, green Hellebores, wrapped with lavender ribbon.  Divine!

Cake by Mark Lotti's Classic Cheesecakes & Cakes... linens by BBJ Linen (this is a new overlay, Silver Cracked Ice.. over a lilac lamour and it features our signature 'floral' plateau...all fresh flowers!
This arrangement was on the terrace...Bold American Catering later put their cheese display on the table.

Their centerpieces were high and low... here's my photo... not bad, but I'm no professional...just wanted to share as quickly as possible...
Once our photos from the professional arrive, we'll share..
